Questions
What kind of password is this?
An open password: the PDF asks for it before it shows anything. It does not add separate print, copy or edit restrictions.
How strong is the encryption?
The file is encrypted with AES-256, a standard PDF encryption method. A short or guessable password is still easy to break, so choose a long one.
What if I forget the password?
We cannot recover it, so keep it somewhere safe. We do not keep it.
My PDF already asks for a password. Can I protect it again?
Not directly. Remove the existing password first with Unlock PDF, then protect the result.
Is there a limit on the password?
It can be up to 128 characters long.
