Questions
Will it always work?
No. It can recover files with a damaged structure, but it cannot bring back data that is missing from the file.
What does it actually repair?
It rebuilds the file's internal structure, such as a damaged or missing index, so that PDF viewers can open it where that is possible. It does not recreate pages, text or images that were never saved.
What if it says the file is too damaged?
Then there is not enough left to rebuild. Download the original again or ask the sender for a new copy.
Does it repair password-protected files?
No. If the PDF needs a password to open, remove it with Unlock PDF first.
