- If it asks for a password to open, type that password. Otherwise leave the box empty.
- Click Process and download the unlocked PDF.

Can you unlock a PDF without the password?
Only if the PDF opens without one but restricts printing, copying or editing. Then the restrictions are removed and no password is needed.
What if the PDF asks for a password to open it, or I forgot it?
Then you must enter it. We can't open such a file without the password, and we never guess or crack passwords.
Why does it say my PDF isn't protected?
If a PDF has no password and no restrictions, there is nothing to remove, so the tool tells you instead of returning a copy.
Will the pages change?
No. The pages are copied as they are; only the protection is removed.
How do I add a password instead?
Use Protect PDF.
